The more you play the better you get of course but you don’t have to play long hours every day to get satisfying results. Actually our brain seem to absorb the learning much better if you play shorter periods of time more frequently than for instance playing for a couple of hours just once in a while. Even if you have only 20 minutes several times a week you will still notice great improvements. Once you got into the habit of using your time well it’ll get even easier to sit down and play. You might also have so much fun that you don’t want to stop.
Knowing in advance what to practice and play will make the use of your time much better and more fun. At the end of a lesson with me I usually write down a few sentences about what you did. This way you don’t have to spend time trying to figure out what it is that you could do.
Practicing has a bad reputation for being boring and hard work. It does not have to be that way at all. The more you play the easier and more fun it gets. During the lesson I will give you ideas and suggestions about how to play and practice.
